Patti Negri – The Good Witch
Patti Negri is one of the most iconic women in the paranormal world, and she is lovingly known as the “Good Witch” with such a positive energy force in our community. I had the honor of attending and being a part of one of seances, where I witnessed her bring through loved ones for her many fans. She delivers messages with such grace that one can’t help but feel the magic in her.
Patti Negri is best known for her recurring role on the Travel Channel & Discovery’s #1 show GHOST ADVENTURES. She became a hit on the #1 paranormal show on YouTube OVERNIGHT with Elton Castee and Corey Scherer. GM: Hello Patti! Thank you for taking the time to talk to our readers.
I am so thrilled to be here. Thank you so much, April. I appreciate it. I am honored to be a part of your beautiful and amazing new artistic venture.
GM: Thank you for taking the time to talk with me. I’m excited to have this opportunity to introduce readers to one of the most iconic women in the paranormal world. I have always admired how kind and approachable you are with everyone. I’m curious, is there anything about you that your fans don’t know?
Patti: Well on the negative side, I’m a typical Libra. That’s if it’s a little decision. I’m horrible at making it like I could solve the problems of the world. I could tell you how to deal with a haunted house. I could help you with my mediumship or my psychic ability but do not make me decide which restaurant we go to or what movie we want to see. I can’t do it like this one. Oh, no, that one, this one. I don’t care when I say I don’t care. I don’t care. I think what’s funny about me that people will probably know because of all this weird stuff that I do is that I’m in a good way, addicted to a challenge, to facing something that’s unfaceable. I mean I don’t want, to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or anything like that but I like something that the odds are insanely against me because I spent my early life as a bit of a victim. I had health issues and all this stuff and victim to the medical field. The victim to live through two bad husbands and I had just given away my power to other people. Once after age 30, I’m like screw that I’m taking my power back and once I changed my idea about fear because I went through life fearful because fear as you know, and you’re a brave girl, but fear can freeze you in your tracks, not make you do what you want to do. Not make that phone call, not make you step in to create the life or career that you want or the $1,000,000 industry that we are both in. People pay money to watch scary TV shows and go on paranormal investigations, ride roller coasters. It’s all the same. I’m going to jump on that roller coaster as soon. As soon as I flipped that way of thinking that changed everything. It’s like I’m so scared and I love this challenge. Taking your power back in a good way gets addicting. I did it the first time because I was told again that I wouldn’t make it to 30 or that if I lived to 50, I would be in a wheelchair. I was a dancer, I said no, I’m not buying that. I’m a manifester, I’m a witch, a magical girl. I don’t have to buy into this anymore, and guess what? Every illness went away. It stopped. I haven’t been sick in decades. So, at 50, instead of being dead or in a wheelchair, as promised by the medical field, I did what they said. I didn’t rebel, I did alternative medicine. I did classic medicine, but at 50, instead of being dead or in a wheelchair I want to prove that anybody can do it. So, that was my first I’m so scared to do this, and I tried out for the world’s hardest obstacle course. I tried out for WipeOut the TV show. I’m supposed to be dead or in a wheelchair. I have 5 fractions in my back and a brain tumor. I’m going to get on the hardest obstacle course, now I live in Hollywood this is what you do, It’s a game show challenge. So, I beat over 100,000 people and got on the show and it was the hardest, scariest, most painful, and most empowering thing I had ever done. I went in without running away and proving that we could be over health issues and emotional illness. It was like, wow, I did this, and you think you can walk on water for six months if you could do that you could do anything. I like that feeling.
GM: “You are going to inspire so many people with your story.”
Patti: I want to prove it’s not a fluke. I did the physical thing, so OK, now what can I do? That’s a big challenge that I have no business doing and I’m thinking, well, my husband won’t let me in the kitchen, and I got kicked out of home economics back in high school when they used to have that. I’m like, I’m going to cook for Gordon Ramsay. Then I tried out for the hardest, scariest, most painful challenge again. I’m at the LA Convention Center, where there are 5000 of my closest friends who know how to cook. We are all trying out for Master Chef at every Convention Center across America. I mean, well over 100,000 people are trying out for this, and the next thing you know, I’m on Master Chef, cooking for Gordon Ramsay, and Joe Bastianich and I’m scared to death. This is scarier than the 50-foot fall into burning water. “I have to cook for these guys.” it was so empowering. I have to prove to myself, and therefore show everybody, I’m not special, I don’t know how to boil water, I don’t know what sauté means and I got on Master Chef. You have to be willing to crash and burn and make a fool of yourself which I’m hoping not to do and I’m like all right, I did it. OK, this is addicting. What do I want to do next? I’m watching America’s Got Talent and I go. I have no talent for this I’m a mediocre dancer, and I can’t sing. I’m going to get on America’s Got Talent. The next thing I know, I am rolling on the floor at the Dolby Theater, making a fool of myself, psychically reading Howie Mandell’s dog. Again, another show I should not have been on I’m completely unqualified. The odds weren’t 100,000 when they were a million thousand to one. If I could do that anybody can. It’s changing your thoughts about fear, and so that is what my message is, you know, whether I’m doing a goofy television show or me speaking at a convention like we both do, it’s really about reminding people how much power we have. If we don’t give it away.
We manifest and most of the time when we’re unconscious, we manifest a negative. This is going to be hard. We just made it hard. I lived in a house in the Hollywood Hills a 1920 beautiful little design I remember, and I manifested it when I was living in a cheap little apartment down the street. I want to live on Irvine. My house is on Irvine, and when an old high school girlfriend came over that I hadn’t seen in years, she pulled up to my little yellow house with a white picket fence. And she goes, “Patty, do you know, this is the house you talked about when we were kids?” And I said no, I don’t even remember that, but I obviously created it so we do manifest now.
GM: When did you come out as a witch?
Patti: In 2008 and after the big corporate crash. I came in kicking and screaming because this was always my life, the psychic medium part, the seances, the witch part.
GM: That part you had to keep private.
Patti: I had to keep it private because I ran a very corporate production company. I it ran for years, I would produce shows for Vegas, Atlantic City, Mattel, IBM, and Microsoft teaching big song and dance extravaganzas teaching this interactive, immersive, and I’m like these people cannot know one, I talk to dead people and 2, I dance around bonfires in a cape. They just can’t. This is too corporate.
just kept it separate and in 2008 that big corporate crash, corporate entertainment became a dirty word because of the abuse of it, and people were being laid off. We can’t do this, we have to just give them a $25 gift certificate to the grocery store, and my all of my shows all went down at the same time. Reality television was moving up, and I remember somebody I knew who knew my abilities with seances, they said, Patti, we need you to do a seance on this reality show. I’m like, no, I can’t, that’s my private life. Patti, please we need you. I’m saying no and they’re like, please, and I’m looking at my empty calendar. Well, what’s the name of it? It’s called Mobile Home Disaster. OK, I’ll do it. What can this hurt? This will be fun. Now I’m going on set. I’m saying to myself Oh my gosh, this is the most empowering thing I’ve done. I got to help a human little girl because everybody thought she was crazy because she was drawing portals on the ceiling of her motorhome. I’m like, no, there are portals on the ceiling of her motor home. I got to help a spirit. I got to open the mind a little bit of the cast and crew. They were kind of the Southern Bank crew and I’m like, this is so great, but never again. When it aired, two months later, all of a sudden, my very first phone call was from my biggest national corporate client, a bank client. Hi, Patti, I saw you on TV last night. I didn’t know you were into the paranormal. I’m into the paranormal! She started to tell me her very first paranormal ghost story. I thought to myself, What the heck am I doing? This is who I am. Why not put everything that I have together in my production company? This is me being in Hollywood my entire life, they’re not separate I put them all together and I was out of the broom closet!
GM: It’s so liberating, Patti. So many people are grateful you did this as it opened doors for those who were afraid to speak about it.
Patti: Yes, and I haven’t looked back. That’s where I was led by Spirit again, kicking and screaming. No, no, no, no. How many times can you say no until you’re just kicked into the fire?

Patti: Honestly, I’ve been doing that for celebrities for years. I live in the Hollywood Hills these are my neighbors and I’ve been doing this for 20 years, for Academy Award-winning celebrities, I would guide them on what color blue or this color green panties to wear and I want you to picture this sigil. It’s all about using magical sigils and symbols. Picture this word Success, Intuition, whatever. Do this and what is more intimate than your panties you put on those lower chakras and say this little thirty-second spell/manifestation, wish for whatever you want. I’ve been doing it for 20 years. Now I’m thinking, Well, everybody should have access to this, it doesn’t just have to be the Hollywood people or sports teams or whatever. GM: I love your one book Old World Magic for A Modern World. I love the little spells you have in the book. I’m even more excited I had it autographed by you. I’ve used some of the spells and it works! You just have to believe.
Patti: Of course, intent is everything, passion, faith, or whatever you want to call it, whether you want to call it, you’re going to church and praying, or whether you use new age affirmations, vision boards, or spellcasting. It’s faith and intent, passion and passion fuels everything in life. Doubt and fear kill everything.
I use the term Good Witch over white because white means so many things. Good means a lot of things. I don’t want to control anybody else. If you want love spells, yes, I will bring you the love of your life. I can’t bring you want me to bring you a specific person unless I have that person’s permission. That’s controlling them. Return to sender as you’re sending them back. What they have. That’s good. But why would I live in a world sending out hexes and curses? Because now I have to live in that world. I’d rather send out love, love, love, and abundance that’s cause and effect. Action and reaction. We live in the world. We create, I know, and some powerful people are willing to do dark magic and dark creations, and all of a sudden, they get they’re angry, they get paranoid sometimes. I mean, it affects you. Everything affects you. I live a happy and joyous life.
As an example, if I want to take Ghosted Magazine, Ghost Adventures, I’ve been working with Zach Bagans since 2015. Usually, two episodes a year. It’s a boy show, but he always likes to do the good witch bad witch thing. He put me to go against this beautiful woman, Lady Snake, but she was willing to do dark magic, and again, she was a lovely woman, a powerful witch of spellcaster, manifester, or whatever you want to call it. She’s dead now and she is younger than me, and I’m not going to say because she did bad magic, but you live in the world, you create illness, everything. That’s why I gave up getting sick because I gave up negativity and darkness.
GM: That’s why I love the return-to-sender magic, it doesn’t have to be specific to anyone, but I believe just sending back the negative energy and pushing it away from me. I like to have a very positive atmosphere around my home. I protect my home, and mentally I’m constantly protecting my home, my car, my family, and my dog Frankie. What do you do for protection? What is one simple thing for regular people can do for protection?
Patti: Dragons are powerful. I have it in my book or have to get yourself a little plastic dragon or crystal dragon and feed it every day. Dragons. Whether you believe they’re real, fire, breathing animals or not, doesn’t matter. Dragons can fly between heaven and earth. They live at the crossroads. They’re in every culture, Asian culture, medieval culture. They’re powerful. Where angels are great, angels do two things enlighten and protect because they’re dextral. They’re up here. Dragons can fly from heaven and earth. So, I curl up the energy of a dragon under a house, keeping your house safe. I have little Dragons like plastic Dragons everywhere. If I need energy today if you need money. Dragons are worker bees. Another thing I use for protection is a Helm of Awe. (Helm of Awe is one of the most potent magical runic symbols used by the Vikings Aegishjalmur, also known as the Helm of Awe, which gave Viking warriors protection, and also courage and strength).
This it’s a rune, I’m wearing it now, and it has an 8-sided cross. It is very powerful. I don’t go on scary ghost hunts without wearing one. If you don’t have the medallion, you could write it on a post-it and stick it in your bra, in your pants pockets. It’s sacred geometry. It takes the negative energy and blows it up like an Atom bomb. I love it. I have one under my welcome mat at my house. It keeps away burglars and bad energy.
GM: I talk positive energy into my coffee in the morning, for protection, love, happiness, or money.
Patti: Yes, talking to your coffee and when you’re adding things to your coffee, stir your cough way clockwise and add in love. Add in everything you want when you want to get rid of things. If I’m stressed and angry, talk into your coffee, and stir it counterclockwise. And get rid of angst, anger, or fear. Clockwise, everybody above the equator goes clockwise when you’re adding, and it goes counterclockwise when you’re releasing. Whether you’re clearing your house or whether you’re stirring your kid’s oatmeal. It’s magic, and it’s mostly really, it’s magnetics scientific magnetics.
GM: “I attended your seance and participated in it. It was an amazing experience, not at all as scary as people tend to assume. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever witnessed. You managed to include the entire audience in the seance, creating a sense of togetherness. We didn’t hold hands but formed a circle that felt protected and inclusive. It was a safe space with no judgment, only love.”
Patti: Thank you. That’s important to me. I think again, I’ve been doing it since I was 7 or 8, and I’ve learned how to lift the veil at a young age, and I always tell people, if you’ve seen me do a seance on ghost adventures or Portals to Hell, it won’t be like that because we’re not in an insane asylum, I’m not channeling serial killer. Talk to your grandma. You want to talk to whomever. The spirits have so much to say. You know what we do on TV is one thing, but in real life, spirits have so much to give us.
GM: You have visited Hotel Cecil, one of the most haunted hotels in the world. What was your experience like?
Patti: I have been there many more times than anybody I know. I did it with Ghost Adventures, my overnight crew TFLI and I filmed a CW show there. That place needs a clearing so badly. It is truly the darkest place I’ve ever been. When I filmed with Ghost Adventures, I led them to a room where I was opening up the window that somebody jumped out of, but I’m always protected, I wear my sigils and symbols, I have my guardians, my protectors, and I shut down that portal at the back of my neck and we want our third eye in front open. We want the one in the back of our necks where we bow our heads to pray closed. You don’t want to get in. I am willing to channel serial killers and stuff because I’ve trained in this my whole life. I study religion, philosophy, science, occult, science, and metaphysics. So, I know if I’m going to get into the Jinn world or I know if I’m going to get into just the evil human world.
GM: “What are the ways to safeguard yourself from negative energies? It’s not the same as protecting yourself from everyday life situations.”
Patti: Very carefully. We need Dragons now Dragons they’re getting very popular. Walk into any spiritual or metaphysical shop and that’s because we need them as we move into that age of Aquarius, they sang about in the 60s. It is not our parents, parents, grandparents, world of black and white, right and wrong, solid ground. There is no solid ground. So, what better than a dragon to navigate for you?

Patti: It’s so funny. I buy the silliest, cheapest little plastic Dragons. I buy them in bulk like 100 at a time because and I can’t tell you again. I broke the LA Dodgers curse, well it’s not a real curse. I’ve seen Dragon Energy stop an abusive relationship, get somebody out of a massacre in Vegas. I just buy the cheapest little dragon and you breathe life into them and set your intention. You have to feed them. It’s all in my little book, so simple anybody can do it, but we need Dragons now because the veil is thinning. It’s like we’re all moving between our world and the other world.
GM: I know I’m starting to feel it. I have been saying to my husband and friends that I feel like my body has been vibrating. I could feel the vibration, it’s getting stronger and stronger, as if something was about to happen. It’s a shift or something of that sort.
Patti: I have and almost all of us, I mean, you’re intuitive, you’re super gifted. We’re the ones who help guide people through this, whatever it is.
GM: It amazes me because people don’t realize the magic that they have within them and how you can change the energy in the room and, speaking of which, Patti, you have blown up. I see the popularity of you, and you are everywhere, and this is all the good energy that you have put out there. Thank you so much Patti for that and taking the time to talk to me and share all this enlightening information with our readers.
