The Worlds most haunted tattoo parlor

Hidden in Deptford, New Jersey, amidst the thrum of everyday life, lies a tattoo parlor unlike any other.  With its bold signage and edgy aesthetic, Convent Tattoo and Body Piercing draws in patrons seeking to adorn their skin with inked masterpieces.  Yet, beneath the surface of creativity and self-expression, whispers persist of a haunting that defies explanation.  This is the tale of the Convent Tattoo Parlor, where the lines between reality and the paranormal blur in eerie harmony.  From unexplained cold spots to objects moving on their own, the paranormal activity in this tattoo parlor is not for the faint of heart.

According to the owner, Sophia, the building that is now the Convent Tattoo Parlor has a rich history.  Originally built in the 1950s as a house, its first occupant was an older woman named Bertha, who is rumored to walk the grounds still.  In 2006, the house was sold to an architect, who moved the two-story portion of the building and attached it to the original home.  When Sophia purchased the property in 2014, she embarked on the arduous journey of transforming it into the unique tattoo parlor it is today.

Upon arrival, you are greeted in the lobby adorned with haunted objects mailed to Sophia from across the globe.  As you journey through the decently sized hallway into the parlor, you are flanked on both sides by human skeletons and more haunted objects.  Entering the studio, it is a comprehensive open floor plan consisting of a few tattoo stations and, yes, you guessed it, more haunted objects.  The tour continues further.   Passing through the studio is a smaller room with pinball machines and a staircase leading up to a loft/library area full of books and, yup, more haunted objects.  Upstairs, aside from the library, there is a quiet nook and a kitchen at the end of a long, creepy hallway.

Our initial filming of the location included a walkthrough tour and photoshoot.  During our walkthrough, one of the dolls in the library inexplicably moved from the shelf to the middle of the floor.  Eric and I noticed it when we were wrapping up the tour portion of the video.  Upon further examination of the video, the doll is on the shelf earlier in the video and appears on the floor later.  I will note for the record that all employees were in the lobby area closing up for the night, and Eric and I were the only two people upstairs.  This event began our night in the World’s Most Haunted Tattoo Parlor.

We didn’t need much equipment for this investigation, as several cat balls were littered throughout the sea of haunted dolls.  Eric and I had cameras, audio recorders (no DR-60s were harmed during this investigation), Rem Pods, and K2 Meters.  Note: While entertaining, Rem Pods and K2s are no accurate indication of spiritual presence and may only indicate shifts in the environment that “may be” indicative of something unexplainable.

Now, back to the investigation.  During our night, we heard footsteps and caught a disembodied voice that we captured on our audio recorder.  There were multiple instances where the cat-balls were being triggered by something, but we couldn’t positively conclude they directly correlated to our attempts to communicate.  The Rem Pods did activate to temperature fluctuations, but nothing concrete.

The Convent Tattoo Parlor was a fantastic place to experience.  As investigators ourselves, we want to make sure that we are disseminating the most accurate version of haunted locations.  We are absolutely impressed with the quality of evidence we captured and cannot explain it.

We want to thank The Convent Tattoo and Body Piercing for allowing us to showcase this truly unique location.

Serially Killer Deals

The Market of Murderabilia

Eric Holler has always been fascinated by true crime and had a passion for it. During high school, he had initially intended to pursue a career in law enforcement. However, his life took a different turn and he ended up becoming one of the first dealers of true crime collectibles, which later became known as “murderabilia”. Eric has achieved success in this field and has appeared on numerous television shows and been featured in several print magazines.

In 1997, Eric had a friend who possessed a list of addresses of notorious serial killers and criminals. Eric started writing to many well-known inmates, and he developed a close pen pal relationship with Richard Ramirez, also known as ‘The Night Stalker’. Eventually, Eric became Ramirez’s art dealer and sold his artwork from 1997 to around 2001. Eric got involved with various other killers and started selling their art as well. This was in the late 90s when eBay was a popular platform, and that was where Eric initially used to sell these original pieces of art.

In around 2010, Eric began his own company that specialized in true crime collectibles called ‘Serial Killers Ink’. The website for his company is serialkillersink.net. He is one of the original dealers in this industry and has been recognized as such in several media appearances over the years.

In 2012, he appeared on The National Geographic Channel’s television show ‘TABOO’, which he considers the show that put him out there and opened the door to being recognized as a leader in this industry. That particular episode is called “Living with The Dead” and is part of season 9 of the TV show ‘TABOO’.

Many media appearances between 2010 and 2019 with Eric’s last big feature was in August 2019 in an issue of Rolling Stone magazine.

The studio is filled with many of Eric’s true crime pieces, and it’s a popular spot for customers who often request tours of the items. Conversations about true crime also happen frequently – the latest cases, infamous serial killers, and other topics. Several original John Wayne Gacy paintings hang in the studio, along with original Charles Manson and Richard Ramirez pieces. Nicolas Claux, also known as “The Vampire of Paris,” is a personal friend of Eric’s, and he painted several art pieces specifically for the studio. Various original items from other notorious figures are on display as well, including Dennis Rader (BTK killer), Henry Lee Lucas, Ottis Toole, and many others. All the items in the studio are indeed originals.

Eric wants to make it clear that he does not support or approve of the actions of those who have committed heinous crimes. However, he is interested in the psychology behind their behavior and what led them to commit such terrible acts. Eric does not believe that displaying their artwork is a way of glorifying them in any way. Instead, he sees it as an opportunity to study history, including the darker aspects of it, such as true crime. Many people share Eric’s fascination with true crime, as evidenced by the popularity of cable networks, documentaries, and movies dedicated to the subject, as well as the general public’s ongoing interest in high-profile criminal court cases.

Being able to visit such an eclectic location full of items, some haunted and some that are from very interesting people, is something you will never forget.   I know that for Ghosted Magazine, we were honored and humbled by the welcoming nature of the owners and staff of the Convent Tattoo and Body Piercing.  We look forward to going back for a full investigation of the Worlds most Haunted Tattoo Parlor.
